Job Description Summary About Production Planner

The Planner will work as part of the Supply Chain team to plan and prioritize requirements for the manufacture of in-process and finished products to meet demand. This individual will use our planning systems to ensure their inventory buffers are maintained to optimize operational efficiency and maximize cash flow. The role will require strong analytical skills as there will be various data inputs to validate in order to meet inventory target levels and maintain inventory availability. This position will work closely with internal operations teams to proactively identify inventory issues and opportunities, proposing solutions to ensure alignment between supply and demand.

Duties & Responsibilities

Production Planner

  • Plan and prioritize production requirements using SAP ERP in combination with Demand Driven MRP Software, R+.
  • Full responsibility for the product portfolio assigned to the position
  • Understanding material usage/demand.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing managers on material issues that affect production schedules, Quality teams to ensure materials conform to specifications, and Production schedulers on priority
  • Participate in operational teams dealing with new product introductions and changes to existing products and meeting deliverables by assigned deadlines
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Maintain data integrity in ERP system for materials (lead time, stocking unit of measure, etc.)
  • Work with various departments to effectively and efficiently align supply and demand.
  • Support our new product introduction pipeline and help STEMCELL launch new products
  • Share ‘best practice’ knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures, and quality system requirements within the planning and supply chain function.
  • Represents planning in product strategy/update meetings by providing inventory analysis or expert feedback on the subject matter.

Qualifications

Production Planner

  • A degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Science with at least 3 years of experience utilizing a material resource planning system
  • Proficiency in Operational systems; ERP / MRP / DDMRP, SAP, R+, DBR+
  • Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work experience should demonstrate a progression of responsibilities and knowledge
  • Exceptional organizational skills to navigate an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, fluent in English
  • APICS / Lean / Six Sigma
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Team player with the ability to contribute within Planning and on cross-functional teams
