Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the 668 Posts of Sub-Inspector (UB) and Sub-Inspector (AB). Application Forms May Be Submitted Either through on-line or off-line.

Sub Inspector – 668 Posts

Age Limit 

The applicant must not be below 20 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2024. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal only. Upper age limit is also relaxable upto 35 years for departmental candidates of West Bengal Police only having requisite qualification. The upper age limit shall further be relaxed for the departmental candidates by 5 (five) years in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates and by 3 (Three) years in case of Other Backward Classes candidates.

Educational Qualification 

The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

Language :- (i)The applicant must be able to speak, read and write Bengali Language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. (ii) For the applicant of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong District, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal Official language Act, 1961 will be applicable.

Pay Scale 

Pay Scale Rs. 7,100 –37,600/- (i.e. Pay Band-3) + Grade Pay Rs. 3,900/-plus other admissible allowances.

The following Application fees and/or Processing fees have been fixed.

How to Pay Fee 

Payment of Application and/or Processing Fees can be made on-line through payment gateway by using Debit Cards/Credit Cards/Net-Banking of any Bank. Fees can also be paid through different – wallets and Bharat QR and UPI App. An amount of Rs.5/- (Rupees five) only will be charged by the agency concerned as “Service Charge” for availing Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Net-Banking/ e-Wallet/ other App facility.

Selection Process 

The posts of Sub-Inspector (UB) and Sub-Inspector (AB) in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up on basis of qualifying the Preliminary Examination which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

How to Apply 

Application window for submitting application through on-line or downloading of off-line application form with printed challan of United Bank of India / India Post will remain operative for the period from 10.08.2024 to 09.09.2024 (5P.M.). However the last date of depositing Application and/or Processing Fees only in respect of on-line applicants using United Bank of India challan, will be 12.09.2024 (5 P.M.).

Essential Educational Qualification 

Must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

Age Limit :The candidates must not be less than 20 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2018. Upper age limit shall be relaxable in case of the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes as per the extant rules of the State.
