Pediatric Nephrologist
BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province’s most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

The Division is a provincial resource serving a total population base of 4.2 million and provides a broad range of consultative services, inpatient care, and outreach clinics. The Division currently has six full-time and one part-time faculty member. The Division is recognized for its excellence in clinical care and education, its clinical and translational research programs, and its clinical care pathway development. Current faculty bring research expertise related to congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplantation. The Division has a Royal College accredited sub-specialty training program.

The UBC Department of Pediatrics and BCCH are seeking a Pediatric Nephrologist who will provide clinical care, and education and participate in the research activities of the division. The current need is for an individual with expertise and interest in general nephrology and kidney transplant.

Applications are invited from clinicians with the potential to thrive in a busy clinical and academic environment. As a successful candidate, you will have demonstrated a commitment to hospital-based nephrology with excellence in providing high-quality clinical care and quality improvement. Duties include inpatient service with the call, as well as the transplant service and pediatric nephrology outreach. Opportunities are also available for chronic kidney disease, renal dialysis, and transition medicine, based on availability and interest. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants MUST have a Medical Degree and must be eligible to obtain a special license to practice medicine in British Columbia, as well as have sub-specialty training in pediatric nephrology and be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
