About the Role – Financial Innovation Manager 

The Financial Innovation Lead role will own and drive product or partnership strategy, roadmap, and development on behalf of Lending Club. Strategy work includes developing a compelling value proposition, product differentiation, growth, and profitability approach. The work may also involve working closely with Research to test product hypotheses with our customer base as well as working across internal functions to ensure feasibility. Execution work includes partnering across Marketing, Product, and Tech to shape and launch the product. The launch may be implemented in stages including proof of concept and iterative MVPs. The Lead will be a part of the Financial Innovation group, an incubator of new products within the company. The financial Innovation team prioritizes products that have a particularly large impact on and improve the financial well-being of LendingClub’s member base.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide business insight and project management for product strategy and execution
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to develop product strategy, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams (e.g. operations, technology, product, marketing) to structure product approach and ensure execution
  • Construct roadmaps for product development, launches, and growth
  • Survey and analyze competitive industry landscape to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities, as needed
  • Contribute to long term GTM strategy to acquire new customers through new features and services
  • Contribute to top-down revenue, growth, and profitability targets
  • Contribute to regular updates to senior leadership including the Head of Consumer Banking and the ELT

About You

  • 2-5 years of professional experience working in corporate strategy, business operations, finance, or related functions at a top-tier management consulting, consumer finance, or technology firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, engineering, operations research or related field (MBA or other advanced strongly degree preferred)
  • A curious, high energy, ambitious individual with plenty of grit, analytical prowess, creative thinking, and initiative, who has a deep understanding of – and empathy for – our customers’ needs
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to confidently work up, across, and down the organizational chart to influence and deliver cross-functional outcomes
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities and business intuition, enabling the ability to absorb complexity and anticipate problems to ensure the most effective use of senior management time and attention
  • Someone who seeks out new opportunities drives projects and is able to create clarity from ambiguity
