Full Job Description About Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician

The Department of Pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) and Boston Medical Center is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to join our Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. The Pediatrician will join our interdisciplinary team of developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, and nurse practitioners. Our program sees children from birth to 22 years with a variety of developmental issues including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, developmental delay, school challenges including ADHD, learning disabilities and school failure, anxiety disorders, behavioral problems, and more. Consistent with the mission of Boston Medical Center to provide exceptional care without exception, we see a diverse group of children in terms of race/ethnicity, primary language, and socioeconomic status. We are seeking a Developmental Pediatrician who is committed to working clinically with underserved populations and contributing to our interdisciplinary training program.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic assessment in a clinical academic medical center setting as well as a satellite clinic.
  • Perform cognitive, achievement, early development, adaptive, behavior, and/or autism evaluations.
  • Provide long-term care coordination for children and families as appropriate.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to interdisciplinary trainees including an MCHB-supported ACGME certified DBP fellowship.
  • Opportunities to engage and initiate research projects as we are a DBPNet active site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Division and Department.

The Department of Pediatrics has 110 faculty and offers a full range of pediatric subspecialty care. The Pediatric Department is a center of excellence for the care of children in an urban setting with over 70,000 ambulatory visits per year. Boston University Medical Campus is comprised of the Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center. The Medical School and Hospital are physically connected and professional hospital staff is on faculty at BUSM. Boston Medical Center is located in Boston’s Historic South End District and provides care to a large urban population with a strong connection to our community health center network.

Required Skills

  • Completed three-year DBP Fellowship. Board-certified/board eligible Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
  • MA Licensed or eligible
  • Fluency in Spanish, and other languages other than English, is highly desirable, but not required
