The opportunity
EY’s Software and IT Asset Management (SAM/ITAM) teamwork with some of the world’s largest companies. Our workstreams range from software license compliance work with major global software vendors to helping EY clients on matters including improving their processes/governance policies and establishing future-focused strategies around software consumption and cloud migration.
The SAM Onshore Delivery Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of EY SAM engagements with the opportunity to drive client success and delivery excellence. In this key client-facing role, you will be responsible for the overall success of large-scale, technology-enabled managed services. This role is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end solutions, focusing on overall engagement quality and health while serving as a trusted advisor to the client. You will provide strategic direction to the team and work with SAM leadership to translate the client’s vision into reality.

Your key responsibilities
SAM Senior Manager
- Provide strategic business-led and technology-enabled transformation designs across a broad range of business issues
- Evaluate and improve how IT organizations, processes, and supporting technology enable the business in an effective and efficient manner
- Understand and document clients’ business processes and requirements, perform root cause analyses, develop business cases, and gather information
- Partner with clients to determine completeness, maturity, effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of services by leveraging industry standards and EY’s best practices
- Provide analysis and reporting of deployment activity and trends (real-time) against license entitlements
- Provide analysis and reporting of compliance issues and potential exposures
- Provide baseline observations and recommendations based on discovery data
- Stay current on and apply software vendor contract terms & conditions as well as any amendments and schedules relative to both historical and real-time contracts
- Lead client inventory preparation, contract negotiations, deployment justification/validation to vendors upon client request
- Drive engagement team and client understating of relationships between contracts, i.e. metric changes, superseding products, etc.
To qualify for the role you must have experience in the following Technical Competencies:
- 5+ years of broad knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables the business through effective strategic planning, governance, and management discipline
- Ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge and to remain current on new developments in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
- Integrity within a professional environment
- The flexibility and willingness to travel as well as work in excess of standard hours when necessary
- The understanding that when it is safe to do so, travel is an essential function of the job, may vary by location, and can be up to 80%
- Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio a plus
- Knowledge of standard IT methodologies and management processes based on frameworks such as CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, TOGAF, project management life cycles, systems development life cycles, PMBOK, Prince2, or data center operations
- Aptitude, interest, and/or experience with IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), BigFix Inventory, ServiceNow, Flexera, Eracent, Snow, Cherwell, or any other software discovery tools is a plus

Ideally, you’ll also have
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline
