Job Description: Research / Teacher Assistant
Purpose
• The research assistant participate in the design, execution, analysis, and evaluation of research projects. The assistant will also be required to assist in certain teaching tasks.
Selection Criteria
Research / Teacher Assistant
• Ability to develop plans and procedures for research projects involving both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• High personal motivation, self-management, and detail orientation; ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision.
• Strong English spoken and written communication skills
• Capacity and willingness to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly, flexibility in responding to new research opportunities as they arise.
• Motivation to engage and manage a wide range of intellectual and physical work, ranging from preparing mass mailings to analyzing proposed data-collection designs and including recruitment of participants and marketing.
• Articulate and tactful communication skills; readiness to meet and work directly with clients.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office, SPSS statistical software, other analysis software, and general Internet and electronic communications.
• Ability to prepare reports of completed projects for publication in technical journals.
• Experience in statistical modeling, data mining, and text mining is preferred.

• Preferably a Master’s degree in Information Technology or Business Administration or a closely related field.
