Position Overview:

Qualifications:

• Current CA RN License Required
• Current CA Nurse Practitioner License Required
• Master’s Degree Required
• BCLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) Required
• National Certification Required – Need to Confirm
• ACLS certification Preferred

• 2-5 years of previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred and will vary based on department need

• Thorough knowledge of the nursing process and/or surgical procedures
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Working knowledge of electronic health records such as EPIC, preferred
• Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments may include the ability to complete age-appropriate assessments
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to work effectively across the organization, especially in situations requiring instructing, persuading, negotiating, consulting, and advising
• Technical and analytical skills for analysis and interpretation of test procedures and results in order to determine appropriate correction actions
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate across the organization and with patients and their families as needed
• Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and/or develop others
• Math aptitude skills: i.e calculation of drug doses
• Computer skills to include entering accurate information into practice management and electronic health record
• Ability to lift and position patients properly using best practices
• Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions
• Active listening skills
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Applies mental application and concentration to handle varying procedures and interruptions
