IBMer Communications Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities:
IBMer Communications Specialist
The Middle East & Africa Communications team is looking for an internal/exec communications specialist to support the MEA Systems business, the North West ,Central East Africa business units, as well as ongoing editorial for the IBMer News App. As a member of IBM’s global Communications function, this role helps find, develop and share the right stories, content and experiences to engage and inspire internal audiences through a broad mix of channels including blogs, video, digital, townhalls, webcasts and more.
Key responsibilities and experience:
IBMer Communications Specialist
– Partner with local business leadership and functional teams including HR, Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Finance to communicate local business performance and transformation goals and initiatives. This includes developing profiles, client success stories, competitive wins, blogs, videos, visuals, social posts, speeches, presentations and other deliverables to inform, inspire and shape opinion.
– Works closely with the global IBMer Communications and Content Hub to drive worldwide programs in the MEA Geography and adapt worldwide messaging based on local business conditions, cultural context and language requirements.
– Uses data and design thinking to determine the most effective methods to engage audiences and track the success of communications activity. Familiarity with basic design, video production and publishing tools such as w3 Publisher and Silverpop to format, edit and post stories.
– Builds strong, collaborative relationships across the business in order to develop content for executive communications. Brings a solid understanding of IBM’s strategy and how to make that relevant and personal to employee audiences.
– Develops a regular cadence of story ideas for IBMer News including client wins, success stories individual and team profiles and citizenship activities. Creates promotional campaigns to drive adoption of IBMer News as a primary source of information.
Role requires the appropriate level of writing, executive communications/presentations and storytelling capabilities, and the ability to analyze data regarding behavior, sentiment and engagement. Able to research, draft and develop compelling stories that showcase our people and the business and societal transformations that IBM is leading with our clients.
Position is based in the IBM Dubai office with other locations in Africa considered and will be part of IBMer Communications Discipline (primary) and Executive Communications and Content Hub Disciplines (secondary), attending all relevant skills development and team building activity.
