SECL Notification 2024 – Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate Apprenticeship: 4-year degree in a relevant branch of engineering or equivalent qualification granted by a government-approved institution.
- Technician Apprenticeship: A three-year diploma in mining engineering/mine surveying or equivalent qualification granted by a government-approved institution.
- Graduate engineers and Diploma Engineers (Duration of Diploma can be 3 years after class 10th or 2 years after class 12th, subject to the condition of the concerned students gaining lateral entry into the 2nd year of such courses). Only students who have completed a regular (full-time) course of study are eligible for apprenticeship training.
Age Restrictions
The candidate must be at least 18 years old as of December 19, 2024.
SECL Notification 2024 – Apprentice Selection Process
The date of candidate enrolment on the NATS portal in the Board of Apprentice Training, Western Regional will be used to shortlist the candidate. Candidates who enrolled earlier will be placed higher.’ In the event of a tie in the same category, the date of graduation in engineering/diploma passing, the percentage of marks in engineering/diploma, and the date of birth will be the first, second, and third tie-breakers for provisional selection. The preliminary selection list will be created using the aforementioned criteria and reservations.
Furthermore, two seniority lists of provisionally selected candidates will be prepared in accordance with the selection criteria. The first list (Level -1) will include candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, while the second list (Level -2) will include candidates from the remaining states. After the first list of candidates has been exhausted, candidates from the second list will be given opportunities.
Stipend for SECL Apprentices
The selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs. 9000/- per month for graduate apprentices and Rs. 8000/- per month for technician apprentices, as per Rule 11 (2) of Apprenticeship Rule 1992 (as amended in 2019).
