Education Qualification for TET Notification 2024
Paper-I Qualification
- If you want to apply for Secondary Grade Teacher for classes I to V, you must have a B.Ed in Nursery Teacher Training of two years and a BTC/ Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education from a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET.
- Candidates pursuing a D.E.Ed/B. Ed degrees are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates who are blind or visually impaired are ineligible to take Paper I.
Paper-II Qualification
- B.A./B.Sc./B.Lit. degree from a recognized university with State language, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, and Geography as major subjects and B.Ed from a recognized university if applying for the graduate teacher position.
- Candidates with a B.Lit. degree should also have a B.Ed., D.T.Ed., or TPT.

TET 2024 Exam Syllabus
The TET Exam is made up of two papers.
- Paper 1 – For candidates who intend to teach students in classes I – V.
- Paper 2 – For candidates who intend to teach students in grades VI-VIII.
All questions in the TET exam 2024 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four options and one mark each. There are no negative points. For 2024, the examining body will only use the TET syllabus (below).

Selection Procedure for the TET Notification 2024
