Criteria for Eligibility for Civil Services in the OPSC
- He or she must be able to read, write, and communicate in Odia.
- Passed a Middle School Examination with Odia as a Language subject; or
- Passed a High School Certificate or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject; or
- Passed in Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class-VII from a School or Educational Institution recognized by the Government of Odisha or the Central Government; or
- Passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School
OPSC OCS 2024 – Educational Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree from any University established by an Act of the Central or State Legislatures in India, or from an Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament, is required.

Age Limit for Odisha PSC OCS Vacancy 2024
A candidate must be at least 21 years old and no older than 38 years old as of January 1, 2024, i.e. he/she must have been born no earlier than January 2, 1984, and no later than January 1, 2001.
Process of OPSC OCS Selection
The Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination will be divided into the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for candidates selected for Main Examination; and
- Main Examination (Written and Interview) for candidates selected for the various Services and posts.
Examination Preliminary
The Preliminary Examination shall consist of two compulsory papers of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) carrying a maximum of 200 marks each in the subjects specified in section 1 of SCHEDULE-III of the OCS(CCRE) (third) Amendment Rules, 2024 (Annexure-I), each paper lasting (02) two hours.
(a) General Studies Paper 1 (200 points)
(b) General Studies Paper 2 (200 points)
NOTE: The Main Examination will be worth 2000 points, including 250 for the interview.
